Hello there,
My name is Eric and it’s quite possible that I have been your child’s classroom paraprofessional, physical education teacher, and/or coach in the past. Going on to my tenth year in education, I have developed a passion for teaching and would love the opportunity to help teach you and your family the game of chess.
I got into chess in 2019 about a year before the world shut down. Up to that point, I had spent most of my adult life training in combat sports, but after a slew of injuries I was “nicely” told by the doctors to find a new hobby. It was my father who introduced to the game when I was craving any level of competition in or on any field I could find. A board of 64 squares was not quite what I had in mind, but not being able to beat my dad, or anyone online for that matter, really bugged me so I continued to work at it.
Now, five years later, I have matriculated into the chess world, learned its culture and am finally able to hold my own against some of the area’s top competitors. My passion for chess and teaching have brought me to this juncture in my life and I hope you all are willing to tag along for the ride.
Yours in Chess,
Eric
